I'm Kate Costa, the artist behind Press West.
I still remember creating my very first block print in seventh grade art class. I carved an elaborate, anatomically-loose interpretation of a bumblebee on a honeycomb. I went to town printing it on every color construction paper under the sun, with rainbow inks, and proceeded to plaster every variation on the walls of my bedroom. I was hooked.

Years later, I still am. Press West was sparked by a desire to create handmade art after moving to California from the east coast in 2014. I'm constantly in awe of the natural beauty of this place, and through my art I aim to capture as much of it as possible.
This little venture has reawakened my passion for making and creating, and I love every minute of it. It means the world to me that you've taken a few moments to check out my work. Thank you for supporting artists and small businesses!
